Copyright and Media Law

Questions of copyright arise mostly but not exclusively for media companies. However, copyright issues are also of increasing importance in the day-to-day business of other trade sectors, be it for advertising purposes; the design of websites or the use of music. Brock Müller Ziegenbein advises companies and creators of all trade sectors with respect to handling their own as well as third party copyrights, starting with the development of a business idea to drafting of necessary agreements or negotiating with copyright owners or copyright holders. As needed, this includes seeking to protect a client’s own copyrights in judicial proceedings or defending against the alleged infringement of third party rights.

Within the broader copyright and media law context, we defend our clients in and out of court against false factual allegations which have a damaging effect on their business and against abusive criticism as might be found, inter alia, in web forums.

We also advise clients in relation to negative media coverage.
